Without question this is one of the most attractive racecourses in the world. It has a very long history as racing has been happening here since 1731 and it is also known as The Knavesmire. There are a number of feature events held over three days. The Ebor meeting in August features three group 1 races and the Dante meeting in May is extremely popular and well attended.

Admission prices vary according to the race meetings. Please contact the course administration for further information. Children under the age of 16 are admitted for free and must be accompanied by an adult.
Single memberships are available for £250 annually and joint memberships are £430.00 per annum.

There is a huge selection of restaurant, bar and eatery facilities located throughout the course. Please call 01904 638971 for further information and bookings.
There are disabled toilets and facilities, as well as viewing from the grass embankment in the Course enclosure. The Tattersalls Knavesmire Stand also has lifts to all floors for easy wheelchair access.
Gentlemen are required to wear a jacket and tie in the Members Enclosure.

Conferencing facilities are available in the Ebor bar which can seat up to 500 guests. If you are looking for space; the Knavesmire Stand can offer up to 5,000sq.m to host that trade fair or function.

The new M1/A1 link provides even easier road access via the A64. The racecourse is located on Knavesmire road and is 1 mile from the city centre. There is free parking for coaches and cars; however if you do wish reserve a place the cost is $5.00. York Station is also 1 mile from the course and has trains coming from London Kings Cross, Manchester, Birmingham and Edinburgh. Rufford Aerodrome offers facilities for fixed wing and helicopter landings with fees as low as £5 - £30 and is located just 6 miles from the course.
